Baseball Recap: Penobscot Valley Find Success

Penobscot Valley lost to Schenck on May 5th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Howlers came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Howlers.

Chase Osgood was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Osgood is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Dawson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Penobscot Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Penobscot Valley's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for Schenck, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Penobscot Valley will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bangor Christian at 4:00 p.m. As for Schenck, they will head out on the road to take on Shead at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
