Recap: St. Andrew's Highlanders vs. Austin Crusaders HomeSchool Crusaders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Valley, The St. Andrew's Highlanders were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Austin Crusaders HomeSchool 41-0 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for St. Andrew's' six-point performance the contest before.
St. Andrew's can attribute much of their success to Sam Marsh, who threw for 118 yards and four touchdowns on only eight passes. Aydan Key made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Austin Crusaders HomeSchool to a paltry 112 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to St. Andrew's' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Owen Gab and his two sacks.
St. Andrew's now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Austin Crusaders HomeSchool, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's will challenge Frassati Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frassati Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully St. Andrew's likes a good challenge. Austin Crusaders HomeSchool is on the road again on Saturday and play against Dallas HSAA at 2:00 p.m. on October 28th. Dallas HSAA comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
