Basketball Recap: Ripon Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Ripon lost to Sonora back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Ripon Indians strolled past the Sonora Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 57-41.

Ripon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Madoski, who posted 26 points and eight rebounds. Madoski's evening made it 26 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Baur, who had 12 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Despite the loss, Sonora still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Curran, who went 9-for-18 to rack up 23 points. Eli Ingalls was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Ripon's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.1% in those games and 22.5% outside of them. As for Sonora, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Ripon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-47 defeat against Escalon on the 12th. As for Sonora, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-27 loss against Lodi on the 8th.
