Recap: Central Falcons vs. Oak Mountain Eagles
On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Central beat Oak Mountain 46-42. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Oak Mountain is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliyah Golston out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was Golston's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakhiya Smith, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Central's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Oak Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Central will head out on the road to face off against Pinson Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Raven Lewis and Golston. Oak Mountain will be home for the holidays to greet Paul W. Bryant at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
