Football Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Legacy Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 60-13 takedown of Nolan Catholic last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Christian Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Warriors are ranked 80th).

Despite the loss, Legacy Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jaxson Ladd, who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. The Eagles are 4-1 when Ladd posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Lawrence, who threw for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Liberty Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinn Murphy out in front who threw for 259 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 62 yards. Correll Buckhalter was another key player, gaining 98 total yards and two touchdowns.

Legacy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Liberty Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

As of now, neither Legacy Christian Academy nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
