Soccer Game Preview: Handley vs. James Wood

The Handley Judges will square off against the James Wood Colonels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Handley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

On Friday, Handley beat Sherando 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Handley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Sherando are ranked 195th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, James Wood was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millbrook. James Wood haven't had much luck with Millbrook recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Handley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three matchups. As for James Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5-3.

Everything went Handley's way against James Wood in their previous matchup back in April, as Handley made off with a 4-0 victory. Do the Judges have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
