Soccer Preview: Potomac School vs. Georgetown Day
The Potomac School Panthers will head out to take on the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.
Potomac School can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home two weeks ago. They fell 2-0 to Whitman.
Meanwhile, even though Georgetown Day and Jackson-Reed combined for 14 shots on goal on Thursday, they only managed to actually make zero of them. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Mighty Hoppers' first draw of the season.
Potomac School took their victory against Georgetown Day in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potomac School since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
