Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Interlake). They were the clear victors by a 22-5 margin over the Renton Red Hawks on Saturday. Considering the Saints have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lizzy Thompsen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Interlake got a massive performance out of Madeline Knight, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Knight a new career-high. Jacky Jimenez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four runs and four RBI.

Interlake's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Renton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Interlake will venture away from home to face off against Highline at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Renton, they will host Mercer Island at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Islanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.47 runs per game on average), something the Red Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
