Softball Game Preview: Stanton Blue Devils vs. Ribault Trojans

The Stanton Blue Devils will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Ribault Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ribault took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stanton, who comes in off a win.

Stanton is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Parsons Christian Academy. Stanton was the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Parsons Christian Academy on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Leah Joseph made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Stanton got a massive performance out of Maddie Hicks, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emmalyn Gensch, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Stanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .842. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Ribault was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Parker.
