Recap: Overfelt Royals vs. Mt. Pleasant Cardinals
The Overfelt Royals suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Mt. Pleasant, falling 60-31. Overfelt was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mt. Pleasant apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Mt. Pleasant found their leader in underclassman Jordon Flagg, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Felix Enow, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds.
Overfelt's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overfelt will square off against James Lick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. James Lick comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will head out on the road to face off against Yerba Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
