Soccer Recap: Galileo Comes Up Short

Galileo lost to Nelson County back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Governors, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Galileo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Nelson County are ranked 56th).

Galileo has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season. As for Nelson County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Galileo is set to challenge their familiar foe Chatham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Nelson County will square off against rival Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
