Summit's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Cranford Cougars 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hilltoppers have posted against the Cougars since May 4, 2019.

TJ Flack was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Flack was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Flack wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt Rosoff, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Rosoff has snagged this season.

Summit's victory bumped their record up to 9-11-1. As for Cranford, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coincidentally, Summit and Cranford will both be playing New Providence the next time they take the field. The Hilltoppers will host the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
