Mankato East and Century are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Mankato East had just enough and edged out Northfield 8-7. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Century made easy work of Winona on Thursday and carried off an 11-2 victory.

Carter Simonson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Aiden Yochim was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Mankato East skirted past Century 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
