Fort Payne waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They beat the Southside Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 51-38. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Payne has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Southside, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17.

Fort Payne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-25 defeat against Gadsden City on the 4th. Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
