Horizon Honors skates past Arete Prep with ease

In what's become a running theme this season, the Horizon Honors Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Arete Prep 52-22 at home. The victory was nothing new for Horizon Honors as they're now sitting on five straight.

Horizon Honors found their leader in underclassman Audriana Anglada, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Anglada hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Barden, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Despite the loss, Arete Prep still got an impressive performance from Sophia De La Rosa, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Horizon Honors is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Arete Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon Honors won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Augustine Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. St. Augustine Catholic is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Arete Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Carlos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Carlos presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Arete Prep in Arizona (San Carlos is ranked 55th, while Arete Prep is ranked 248th).
