Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. Niceville Eagles

The Lincoln Trojans will head out to take on the Niceville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Chiles 4-3.

Lincoln's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nate Dietz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

For the second game in a row, fans were treated to another clash between #35 Niceville and #95 Columbia. The Eagles came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 7-3 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Jake Morvay tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jackson Marquardt was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Avery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Niceville's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 22-9.

Lincoln came up short against Niceville in their previous matchup back in March, falling 7-2. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
