Softball Recap: Calloway County Lakers vs. Crittenden County Rockets
Calloway County lost to Crittenden County back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Calloway County Lakers put the hurt on the Crittenden County Rockets with a sharp 15-9 victory.
Jaylee McLeod made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. McLeod was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Preslee Phillips was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Emerson Herndon was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Calloway County's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Crittenden County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calloway County will face off against Marshall County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crittenden County, they will head out on the road to challenge Lyon County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
