Football Recap: Chickasha Takes a Loss

Chickasha had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it seven. They were beaten by the Tuttle Tigers 56-0. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Fighting Chicks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Tuttle, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.7 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tuttle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Vanauken, who rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Donnie Schluter was in the mix as well, providing the Tigers with three scores.

Coming up, Chickasha will welcome Blanchard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Chicks will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tuttle, they will head out on the road to take on Harrah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
