Basketball Recap: Hammon Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

After losing to Merritt the last time they met, Hammon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hammon Warriors took down the Merritt Oilers 56-39 on Saturday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Oilers are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hammon pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Merritt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Hammon will host Hinton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Merritt, they are taking a road trip to face off against Snyder at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Merritt is facing Snyder at the right time seeing as Snyder is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
