Basketball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. Hunt Warriors

The Fike Demons will head out to take on the Hunt Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fike will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Fike is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 89-23 win over Southern Wayne. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

Jamaria Freeman was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 41 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fike's points. Emory Skinner was another key player, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points.

Fike smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Hunt was able to grind out a solid victory over West Johnston on Thursday, taking the game 51-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Fike pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hunt, they are also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Fike was able to grind out a solid victory over Hunt in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 54-47. Does Fike have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hunt turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
