Soccer Game Preview: Buchholz vs. Matanzas

The Buchholz Bobcats will take on the Matanzas Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Buchholz will be strutting in after a win while Matanzas will be coming in after a defeat.

Matanzas will be up against a hot Buchholz team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Buchholz never let Santa Fe onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Bobcats have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Santa Fe with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abby Bowen (3), Sophia Tholen (2), Rebekah Goodson (2), and Claire Tanner.

Meanwhile, Matanzas came up short against Seabreeze on Wednesday, falling 4-1. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Sandcrabs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Buchholz has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those eight matches. As for Matanzas, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1.
