Whitmire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the McCormick Chiefs, falling 76-43. On the bright side, the 43- point effort marked the Wolverines' highest-scoring contest to date.

Whitmire's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Z'Keadon Ruff, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Sartor, who scored 11 points.

Whitmire's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for McCormick, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Whitmire and McCormick will both be playing Dixie the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Chiefs will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
