Basketball Recap: Prairie View Academy Spartans vs. Hillcrest Christian Cougars
After flying high against Louisiana Math Science & Arts last Monday, Prairie View Academy came back down to earth. The Prairie View Academy Spartans were outmatched by the Hillcrest Christian Cougars and fell 82-55. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Prairie View Academy still got an impressive performance from Abram Anthony, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. What's more, Anthony also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Jason Doyon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.
Hillcrest Christian was led to victory by Jordan Johnson and Christion Wade. Johnson went 10 for 12 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and six steals, while Wade almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. AJ Thompson was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.
Prairie View Academy now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Hillcrest Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-9.
Prairie View Academy has already played their next contest, a 48-38 loss against Sylva Bay Academy on the 4th. As for Hillcrest Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 87-47 victory against Porter's Chapel Academy on the 31st.
