Volleyball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tri-County North last Saturday, Northeastern came back down to earth. The Jets fell 3-1 to the Shawnee Braves on Sunday. The Jets have struggled against the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Shawnee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Galbreath, who had 16 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Galbreath a new career-high in assists (nine). Another player making a difference was Elle Wissel, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Shawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Northeastern has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Greeneview on the 23rd. As for Shawnee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Jonathan Alder on the 23rd.
