Soccer Game Preview: Grapevine vs. Argyle

The Grapevine Mustangs will challenge the Argyle Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Grapevine is headed into the contest having not lost since January 17 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Colleyville Heritage finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Grapevine's goal came courtesy of Maddison Patton, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Argyle came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Royals a 1-0 shutout. Argyle's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Argyle's win bumped their record up to 12-2-2. With that draw, Grapevine's record moves to 9-4-5.
