Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Waldron Mohawks
Triton Central is 8-2 against Waldron since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Triton Central Tigers will be playing at home against the Waldron Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Triton Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Shelbyville.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Eli Sego, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. He scored a full 40.9% of Triton Central's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Crouse, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Waldron's game on Saturday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Knightstown 59-53.
Despite the loss, Waldron got a solid performance out of Lucas Shaw, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Jacob Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 1-1 season records intact.
Triton Central strolled past Waldron in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 68-54. Does Triton Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waldron turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
