Soccer Game Preview: Paramount vs. Beaumont

The Paramount Pirates will square off against the Beaumont Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Paramount is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Elsinore a 1-0 shutout. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Beaumont hasn't lost a match since January 14th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They beat Rancho Mirage by a goal, winning 1-0. The Cougars' winning goal came courtesy of Caleb Carver.

Beaumont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Paramount, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
