Royal won against Simi Valley last Friday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Highlanders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rio Mesa Spartans, sneaking past 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the Highlanders sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

The result came thanks to Dean Barkman's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Royal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Visage, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Royal's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Rio Mesa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12-1.

Royal didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 win against Santa Monica on the 28th. As for Rio Mesa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-7 victory against Buena on the 1st.
