            Softball Preview: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Cloverdale Clovers        
        
		
        
        
            The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds will head out on the road to  challenge  the Cloverdale Clovers  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Eastern Greene is coming into the  match on  a  three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Eastern Greene didn't have quite enough to beat Bloomfield and fell  4-2.
  Ashlynn Bellman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Cloverdale played in-conference for the first time  on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against Owen Valley by a score of  5-1. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Clovers.
 Callee Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits.
 At the plate,  Norah Frye was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 Cloverdale's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-8. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Eastern Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Eastern Greene took their  victory against Cloverdale  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
