Soccer Game Preview: Redwood vs. Novato

The Redwood Giants will head out on the road to face off against the Novato Hornets at 3:15 a.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, Redwood and Marin Catholic finished up their game with a 1-1 draw.

Redwood's goal came courtesy of Sam Gersch, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Novato has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They lost 3-0 to San Rafael on Tuesday.

Novato's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1. Redwood's draw makes their record 3-2-4 this season.

Redwood took their win against Novato when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redwood since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
