Softball Game Preview: Jordan Beetdiggers vs. Park City Miners

Jordan is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Park City a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Jordan Beetdiggers will be playing at home against the Park City Miners at 3:30 p.m. Jordan has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jordan came up short against Murray on Wednesday, falling 21-6. That's two games in a row now that the Beetdiggers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Park City didn't have quite enough to beat Kearns on Wednesday and fell 12-10. Even though they lost, the Miners' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Olivia Smith led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Radziukinas, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Park City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Jordan took their victory against Park City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-4. Will Jordan repeat their success, or does Park City has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
