Softball Recap: Huron Takes a Loss

Huron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Adrian Maples, falling 17-2. If the River Rats were looking for revenge after losing 22-11 to the Maples when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Olivia Finnie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Mya Stewart also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Huron's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Adrian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Huron and Adrian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The River Rats (ranked 387th) will meet Bedford (ranked 30th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Adrian will face off against Pinckney at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (336 vs. 109).
