Basketball Recap: Lamar County Comes Up Short

Lamar County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the McNair Mustangs.

Kente Taylor was a one-man wrecking crew for McNair as he went 14 of 30 to rack up 28 points. Those 28 points gave Taylor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennis Johnson, who posted eight points and seven assists.

Lamar County's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for McNair, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-16.

Lamar County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-36 defeat against Upson-Lee on the 1st. As for McNair, they have also already played their next game, a 71-38 loss against Cristo Rey Atlanta on the 3rd.
