The Aragon Dons will head out on the road to face off against the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aragon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so St. Ignatius College Preparatory's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
If Aragon beats St. Ignatius College Preparatory with two runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Dons beat San Mateo on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.
Aragon got a great performance from Mason Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aragon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adi Shanker, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory by a score of 5-0 on Thursday.
FInn Demuth tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emmett Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was DJ Delaney, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Aragon's record is now 7-11. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their record now sits at 11-7-2.
