Baseball Recap: Weston-McEwen/Griswold Comes Up Short

Weston-McEwen/Griswold was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Union/Cove Bobcats, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 last Tuesday.

Weston-McEwen/Griswold's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Union/Cove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Weston-McEwen/Griswold wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-1 defeat against Heppner/Ione on the 16th. As for Union/Cove, they will square off against Clatskanie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Bobcats have won eight straight at home dating back to last season, while the Tigers won nine straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
