Basketball Game Preview: Conneaut Spartans vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

Conneaut is 2-8 against Grand Valley since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Conneaut Spartans will head out to take on the Grand Valley Mustangs at 6:45 p.m.

Conneaut is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 66-34 loss at the hands of Edgewood.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rockets 65-38. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Rockets are ranked 812th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Grand Valley, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Conneaut was dealt a bruising 78-49 loss at the hands of Grand Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Conneaut avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
