Volleyball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne and Poca squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wayne had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Dots. The Pioneers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

While Wayne was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-16.

Poca found their leader in sophomore Christiana Childers, who had seven digs and two assists.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 13-27-1. As for Poca, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 34-5-5.

Coming up, Wayne will challenge Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Poca does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
