Preview: Shoals Christian Flame vs. Covenant Christian Eagles
The Shoals Christian Flame will head out on the road to challenge the Covenant Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shoals Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Covenant Christian in Alabama (Shoals Christian is ranked 125th, while Covenant Christian is ranked 334th).
Shoals Christian posted their biggest victory since November 28, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Cherokee 40-13 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Shoals Christian has posted against Cherokee since January 14, 2021.
It was another big night for Sarah Davis (2025), who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games she's played. Kathryn Husiany was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian strolled past Cherokee with points to spare last Monday, taking the game 39-24.
The win makes it two in a row for Shoals Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-6. As for Covenant Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Shoals Christian strolled past Covenant Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 36-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shoals Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
