Baldwin Park is 0-6 against Northview since September of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The contest will give Baldwin Park their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Baldwin Park came up short against Monrovia last Friday, falling 35-14. The game marked the Braves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Although Baldwin Park took the loss, they still got scores from Donovan St Cyr and Jayden Maxie.
Even if they lost, Baldwin Park's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Gregory Holland, Aiden Garcia, and Esteban Cortez, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Northview waltzed into their contest last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 56-21 win over the Colts. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Baldwin Park better keep an eye on Robert Lucero. He was instrumental in Northview's win, throwing for 134 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 72 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. Those 72 rushing yards gave Lucero a new career-high. Jaishon Bledsoe was Lucero's top target, picking up 66 receiving yards and two scores.
Northview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Miguel Guillen led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Andrew Ramos is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Guillen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time this season, Baldwin Park fell to 4-1. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.

It's a different story for Northview, though, as they've been averaging only 236.2 total yards. Baldwin Park was taken down by Northview 28-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Braves, Keanu Tauvao (who rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
