Football Recap: Royal Falls to Yates in First Game of Season

Royal had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Yates Lions on Thursday, falling 35-7. The Falcons were down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Chris Brown was a one-man wrecking crew For Yates. as he threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 89 yards and one TD. Their leading receiver Edward Shinall was Brown's top target yet again, picking up 130 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Royal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 55-0 loss against Almeta Crawford on the 4th. As for Yates, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-8 victory against Madison on the 5th.
