Baseball Recap: Reseda Comes Up Short

Reseda extended their losing streak to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-13. They came up short against the Northridge Academy Pumas, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pumas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-6 back in March.

As for Northridge Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.

For Northridge Academy's part, Oscar Zamora Hernandez and Christian Romero made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Zamora Hernandez tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Romero pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Zamora Hernandez posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. At bat, Zamora Hernandez went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Romero went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Romero has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Jesse Caballero and Alan Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Caballero went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Garcia went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Solis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
