League recap: Springstead extends winning streak with victory over Hernando

Springstead added to the longest winning streak in 6A District 6 this week by beating Hernando, 41-20. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Eagles.

Land O'Lakes and Lecanto played the most contested game in the league this week, with Land O'Lakes eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory.

Nate Boler was a beast in the backfield as Mitchell defeated Gulf.

Eric Vitale threw for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 9-16 with 0 interceptions.

Trenton Soto was the best receiver in the league this week as Fivay bested Hudson. Soto tallied 6 receptions for 201 yards.

6-foot-6 quarterback James Pensyl of the Gators is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,056. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Soto. The Fivay star has 29 catches for 627 yards.

Springstead took down the Leopards 41-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
