Veterans Memorial extends home winning streak to ten

Recap: Veterans Memorial Chargers vs. Miller Buccaneers

The Veterans Memorial Chargers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Miller on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Veterans Memorial sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Leading Veterans Memorial to victory were Michael Montoya and Gilbert Trillo. Montoya rushed for 106 yards and four touchdowns, while Trillo rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Broderick Taylor, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for 12 straight games.

Veterans Memorial has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 12-2 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.3 points. As for Miller, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-1.

Veterans Memorial will take on Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithson Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games. Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
