Softball Recap: Walla Walla's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Walla Walla came into Friday's contest having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Pasco Bulldogs with a sharp 15-5 win on Friday. The Blue Devils' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Anna DeLaRosa ?25 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ellie Mclaughlin ?26 was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn White ?27, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Walla Walla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Walla Walla's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Pasco, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Walla Walla will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
