Softball Game Preview: Ridgefield Park Scarlets vs. Pascack Valley Panthers

The Ridgefield Park Scarlets will take on the Pascack Valley Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ridgefield Park lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Dumont, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Scarlets were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Huskies on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Gabriella Rivera was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Rivera was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ivana Capurso was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Riley Fucci, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Pascack Valley waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Patriots as they made off with a 17-2 win.

Ridgefield Park's record is now 7-1. As for Pascack Valley, their record now sits at an identical 7-1.
