Recap: Corsicana Tigers vs. Everman Bulldogs
The Corsicana Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Everman. While losing is never fun, Corsicana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 585th, while Everman is ranked 213th).
When it comes to explaining why Corsicana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darelle Smith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Smith's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Corsicana's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Everman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Corsicana will look to defend their home field on Friday against Joshua at 7:00 p.m. Joshua is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Everman, they will head out on the road to face off against Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian Heritage is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
