Soccer Game Preview: Yulee vs. Episcopal School of Jacksonville

Yulee and Episcopal School of Jacksonville are an even 3-3-2 against one another since December of 2016, but likely not for long. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville is hoping to do what First Coast couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Yulee's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Yulee skirted past First Coast 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for the Hornets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Episcopal School of Jacksonville gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged University Christian out 2-1. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Christians are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for Yulee, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.
