Softball Game Preview: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Westerville South Wildcats

The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves will face off against the Westerville South Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Worthington Kilbourne and nine for Westerville South.

Worthington Kilbourne came up short against Westerville North on Wednesday, falling 20-7.

Scarlett Elder was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Janosy, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westerville South took on Westland on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 15-14.

Maci Minister made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Aubrey Paul was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Worthington Kilbourne now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Westerville South, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Westerville South's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Worthington Kilbourne has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. It's a different story for Westerville South, though, as they've only averaged .365. Will they be able to contain Worthington Kilbourne's hitters?
