Softball Recap: Eastern Wins Going Away Against Scottsburg

Eastern hadn't done well against Scottsburg recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Musketeers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Warriors. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Musketeers considering their one-run performance the match before.

Sahara Short was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Calloway, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Eastern's record is now 7-9. As for Scottsburg, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Eastern will welcome Corydon Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Musketeers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Scottsburg, they will challenge West Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Senators will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
