Basketball Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 51-39 to the Diboll Lumberjacks. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 875th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 330th).

Despite the loss, Center still got an impressive performance from Edneeuna Barnes, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Journee Smith, who posted eight points and four steals.

Center's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Diboll, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-35 defeat against Texas Truth HomeSchool on the 12th. As for Diboll, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hitchcock at 11:20 a.m. on Friday.
